Financial Reporting Manager

Our Client is a Global Oil and Gas company, supported by investments in to low carbon technologies to sustain the energy transition. The energy division operates as an individual entity within a much larger group, the division consists of 13 entities, the role will be mainly UK focused, although the division has operations elsewhere that this role may look after in time.


The role will report directly into the Business Unit Controller but interact with the Divisional CFO on a regular basis and also the FP&A Manager.


Role responsibilities;

  • Preparation of the Consolidated Group and Statutory financial statements, including external disclosure notes for 13 UK legal entities and coordinate end-to-end delivery of the statutory accounts.
  • Compile the financial statements across the UK Energy business, including P&L, balance sheets and cash flow.
  • Coordinate the submission of the monthly financial statements in HFM.
  • Plan and execute the year-end processes, liaise with the external auditors and manage the timetable.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls, reviewing compliance and other business control issues.
  • Produce the financial reporting in line with UKGAAP and IFRS as needed.
  • Ensure all new accounting standards are up to date and implemented.
  • Responsible for tax submissions and any legislation changes.
  • Exposure to SAP extremely useful, this role will partner with IT to maintain and improve it’s capability.
  • Team management essential as this role manages 6 people, ongoing development and coaching of the staff is essential.
  • Lead on identifying business process improvements and work with the business to help implement and manage the projects.


Key Skills;

  • Exposure to working in a large international group is advantageous.
  • SAP and HFM exposure, very beneficial.
  • Advanced Excel and modelling capability needed.
  • Strong communication essential.


Key Information;

  • Must be able to go into the office at least 4 days a week, based near Westminster.
  • Paying £100k-£115k + 20 bonus and benefits.
