I am delighted to be working with a leading UK law firm and assisting in the recruitment of a Financial Reporting Manager. In this role, you will manage a team of 4 to 5 direct reports to plan and deliver the firm's budgeting, forecasting, financial accounting, and reporting.


The main responsibilities of this role include reviewing and publishing monthly management accounts, cash flow, and P&L forecasts within agreed timescales. You will collaborate with budget holders to prepare annual revenue and expenditure budgets and review monthly expenditure reports. Additionally, you will conduct profitability analysis and review and publish statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and other external reporting. You will oversee all direct-to-client reporting and support the revenue and cashiering teams. The role also involves maintaining proper accounting records and ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation, Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, and accounting standards, while ensuring adherence to financial controls and policies. Furthermore, you will participate in the firm's practice management system replacement project, manage, support, train, and develop the reporting team, and design and deliver financial training to fee earners and partners. Collaboration with the Financial Systems team and other departments to deliver solutions and automate processes, as well as continually appraising and improving existing systems and processes, will be essential.

Applicants should be a qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) accountants with strong technical accounting skill and first rate organisation skills. The ideal candidate would have a prior experience within a law firm and have strong knowledge of Solicitor Accounts Rules.
