Systems Support Engineer Contract: Permanent WFH: Onsite Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 (DOE) Location: Staffordshire We’re seeking a Systems Support Engineer to support, maintain, and improve our client’s global suite of engineering applications. In this role, you’ll work across mission-critical PLM, CAD, and CAE systems such as Teamcenter, NX, Altair, Zuken, and other specialist engineering tools used by thousands of users worldwide. This is a hands-on technical role combining application support, software packaging, troubleshooting, and system improvement. You’ll handle user incidents, deploy new software releases using SCCM, validate applications with testers, and ensure engineering teams can remain productive. A strong customer-focused mindset, excellent communication, and a willingness to learn are essential as you are not expected to possess all of the skillset from the start. Responsibilities Provide 2nd/3rd-line support for global engineering applications (Teamcenter, NX, Altair, Zuken, and more). Package, test, and deploy engineering software updates and new releases using SCCM. Validate new software builds with testing teams to prevent regressions or disruptions. Investigate issues, perform structured root-cause analysis, and escalate defects to Siemens/other vendors where needed. Contribute to application improvements, ongoing system stability, and global engineering efficiency. Deliver high-quality user engagement and ensure engineers can perform their jobs without interruption. Skills & Experience 2+ years’ experience in technical/application support or engineering system support. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to perform root-cause analysis. Hands-on experience with SCCM or similar software packaging/deployment tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to support users calmly and empathetically. Experience with PLM/CAD/CAE systems (Teamcenter, NX, Altair, Zuken, etc.) is highly beneficial; training is available for all. Familiarity with software validation, licensing management, or engineering environments is advantageous. Technical background in application support, software deployment, or infrastructure operations.
