We are looking for a skilled CNC Turner to join a Motorsport and Formula 1 manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes to produce precision components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Lathe Operation:
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Load raw materials into the machine and monitor the machining process.
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure high-quality output.
  • Programming and Setup:
  • Create and modify CNC programs
  • Perform machine setup including tooling, workholding, and fixturing.
  • Conduct first article inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and inspection data.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Maintenance and Safety:
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC lathes to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Production Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in CNC machining or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating CNC lathes.
  • Experience with CNC programming and setup.
  • Familiarity with various materials, including metals and plastics.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
