Freudenberg Performance Materials is a leading Global supplier of Innovative Technical Textiles for a broad range of markets and applications such as apparel, automotive, building interiors, building materials, healthcare, energy, filter media, shoe and leather goods as well as specialties.
Facilities at the Littleborough plant cover all stages in the production of activated carbon materials and filters: coating, laminating conversion and finishing. These adsorptive materials have many applications for odour control including medical and ostomy products. Materials from Freudenberg Nonwoven set global standards in the adsorptive segment.
All adsorptive materials are subjected to thorough performance testing as part of ongoing research and development and subsequently this continues during production. Are you already a Multi Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias, Electrical Controls Engineer or a Process Engineer seeking a shift-based engineering role working for a business who will continually invest in both you and the business?
As a shift based Electrical Multi Skilled Engineer, reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to work at our Littleborough site working with a variety of specialist equipment from PLC's, motor controls, electrical wiring and mechanical systems including pneumatics and motors and gearboxes.
Working as part of our highly skilled and well-established Engineering Team, you’ll be driven and skilled in conducting planned, preventative maintenance including condition-based monitoring, finding and rectifying fault through inputs and outputs and reading and acting on data.
The Job Role:
Our Electrical Multiskilled Engineers work with other teams to ensure production and safety are delivered to a high standard. The environment is fast-paced and will help develop your technical skills on a day to day basis.
Meeting all Health & Safety requirements and controls, you will have a flexible approach to your working hours on a 2-shift system, (6.00am – 2.00pm, 2.00pm – 10.00pm) with an overtime option to cover weekends if required.
Key tasks will include:
- of preventative maintenance, alongside diagnosis and corrective breakdown maintenance of plant and equipment in line with company policies and procedures
- in project work.
- in the writing, reviewing and training of maintenance procedures including LOTO
- in raising and reviewing risk assessments
- and control of external contractors and their services in line with Company policy and procedures
- and ordering of critical / non-critical spare parts
Essential for the role:
.
- to work a rotating shift pattern (6.00am – 2.00pm, 2.00pm – 10.00pm)
- bias but with some mechanical experience desirable
- experience of troubleshooting and repairing systems utilising PLC's, motor controls, electrical wiring and mechanical systems including pneumatics and gears. Existing knowledge of manufacturing systems and the skills required to maintain, repair and troubleshoot such systems.
- qualifications such as (but not limited to) 17th / 18th Edition, Apprenticeship, HNC/D
- and problem-solving skills, looking for problems before they occur
- to make timely decisions, knowing the risks and implications
- in English and Maths
