Operating within a buy and build “Hub and Spoke” business model, the M&A and Integration teams sit at the centre of the organisation and play a critical role in executing the overall strategy. This role will work closely with the Sumer senior management team, with a particular focus on successfully integrating acquisitions, as well as helping to deliver M&A opportunities and drive inorganic growth across the group.


Who we are looking for:


  • Experience of working in an M&A environment. Ideally with minimum 3-4 years professional experience in M&A related functions e.g transaction services, corporate finance or integration/separation roles.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
  • Knowledge/qualifications relating to financial performance is preferable (eg. ACA, relevant degree or training)
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A high degree of emotional intelligence and ability to manage various stakeholders.


Key responsibilities:


  • Work as part of a central team, reporting directly to the Strategy and Integration Director, to play a critical role in the development and implementation of the firm’s acquisition and integration strategy.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of integration activities.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to identify integration risks and opportunities.
  • Support development of standardised and practical pre and post-acquisition processes.
  • Monitor, track and report progress against integration plans and KPIs as well as identifying and addressing any issues or roadblocks.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to existing firms within the Sumer Group who are executing M&A activity.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support organisational transition and integration efforts.
  • Champion innovation and technology adoption that would enhance the M&A process, improve integration or improve efficiency across the group structure.
  • Play a key role in a new and exciting working environment that delivers on the firm’s values and supports diversity and inclusion.
