Service Care Solutions are looking for a Youth Justice Case Officer to work within the Enfield Council on a contract basis.
Location: Enfield
Job role/responsibilities:
The role will be responsible for holding a mixed case load of statutory orders, undertaking assessments, implementing highly effective strengths-based interventions and safety plans. The post holder will provide effective supervision for young people on all orders, ensuring young people are supported and supervised in line with the YJB national standards.
Manage a mixed caseload, supervising and supporting offending young people in the community and custody.
Conduct high-quality assessments and develop personalised intervention plans based on the young person's needs and risks.
Prepare high-quality Pre-Sentence reports for Magistrates, Crown Courts, and Referral Order Panels.
Undertake timely home and secure establishment visits to assess, support, and safeguard young people.
Deliver and coordinate one-on-one and group interventions per the YJS framework and broker specialist referrals.
Complete all reviews, including those in custody, in a timely and effective manner.
Identify, address, and manage the needs and risks of children in secure establishments, ensuring effective and constructive management.
Adhere to YJB national standards and local guidelines to provide the highest quality service.
Safeguard young people, victims, and the public through robust risk management plans.Knowledge/Experience required:
This role requires the ability to converse with the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English, consistent with job requirements.
Knowledge of Youth Justice System legislation, regulations, YJB National Standards, case work guidance, and relevant policies.
Ability to build trust and engage young people to comply with youth justice orders.
Skill in conducting high-quality assessments within youth justice, utilising various information sources and theoretical concepts to analyse and synthesize information for assessing young people's needs.
Ability to create effective intervention plans focused on desistance, risk management, and personalised support for diverse needs.
Proficiency in producing high-quality written reports, maintaining case records, and using IT and case management systems.Qualifications:
