Better Placed are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join an ambitious and growing FMCG Team in the heart of London.


As a Technical Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving our technical initiatives forward. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the development and implementation of innovative solutions, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and exceed industry standards.


Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to foster their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of technical solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards, performance metrics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, incorporating them into our technical roadmap and strategy.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability within the team, encouraging experimentation and continuous learning.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong supplier management skills and be able to demonstrate a focused, attention to detail approach to their work.
  • You will have at least 10 years’ experience in the food trading industry.
  • Confident to communicate and influence across both internal and external stakeholders is pivotal to success in the role.
  • To be solutions driven and have the ability to adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have an excellent food safety & preservation knowledge, including HACCP and BRCGS Regulation
  • Internal quality management systems and lead auditing experience.
  • Good IT skills across a range of Microsoft packages, customer online systems, and experience of specification portals.
  • An eye for detail and desire to ensure exacting product and operational standards are maintained.
  • Point of contact and action customer complaints requests and major issues
  • UK driving licence is essential, with access to your own car.
  • Degree level qualification in food related field.
