JOB TITLE:
Residential Childcare Worker and Senior Residential Childcare Worker
PROFILE:
To be responsible to the Home Manager as a member of the staff team for the direct day-to-day care of the children and young people and other supportive tasks and duties.
REQUIREMENTS
* Applicants to have worked with children/students 2 years out of the past 5 years
* Senior Residential Care Workers cannot be employed without having their level 3 qualification in Children
* The shift pattern is 2 days and 2 sleep ins and 4 days off – on a 3 weekly rota to be discussed at interview
* The first week’s induction training is based at one of our offices, Cannock or Croydon, accommodation, food and travel is paid for.
Professional Child Care Practice
v To provide primary basic care and a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help the child progress.
v Manage the home effectively in the absence of the home manager.
v Effectively lead shifts, direct and support the staff team.
v To supervise staff and manage individual and team performance to ensure a standard of excellent service delivery.
v Ensure the effective monitoring and control of all expenditure accounted for in accordance with financial procedures.
v To manage health and safety processes in the home including implementation and monitoring of risk assessments.
v To support the induction process of new staff.
v To model a robust commitment to safe guarding actively promoting the welfare of children and young people in Horizon care.
v To contribute to the normal development of the children and young people through the provision of a healthy lifestyle to enable them to reach their fullest potential by providing a variety of stimulating activities and a consistent and caring adult model.
v To work with consistent boundaries in order to create safety for the children and young people.
v To be a positive role model for the child and colleagues and encourage both to develop meaningful relationships and attachments.

Pay: £13.00-£16.30 per hour
