Deputy Manager

to join our home in

Lydney .Purpose of the job:To ensure that the needs of young people in Headway's care are met and to provide a positive and safe living experience for these young people and;To manage and lead the Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers in order to provide a high quality of childcare and;To work with and support the Children's Home Manager to ensure that the residential home runs smoothly and effectively at all times and that young people achieve positive outcomes.Click 'Apply' for a full list of tasks and responsibilities for this role.About you:Good overall standard of educationWorking towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalentUp to date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations and quality standardsHold a QCF Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards oneCommitment to commence relevant level 5 Diploma within 6 months of appointment and successful completion of probation period, if not already qualified to this levelA minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behaviourExperience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents and familiesExperience of attending reviews, planning meetings etc.Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.Well organised with excellent administration and IT skillsAble to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of child care and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care.Strong motivational, management and leadership potential.
