Steele Charles are delighted to be further retained in supporting a fast growing energy and renewables group in Edinburgh. The Head of Strategy for the group is seeking their "Number2". The Strategy Manager will work closely with the Head of Strategy to shape and execute the organisation’s strategic agenda across two key areas: growth strategy and corporate/business strategy. The role will lead high-impact initiatives, provide data-driven insights, and ensure alignment with long-term objectives as the business continues to expand. The Role As a Strategy Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s strategic direction across two core areas: Growth Strategy and Corporate/Business Strategy. Growth Strategy Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, partnerships, and business models. Lead market research and competitive analysis to guide strategic decision-making. Develop business cases and financial models to support investment priorities. Collaborate across teams to design and deliver go-to-market and development strategies for new initiatives. Corporate & Business Strategy Support the development and refinement of the organisation’s long-term corporate strategy and annual planning process. Analyse industry trends and internal performance to define strategic priorities. Lead cross-functional projects to enhance operational effectiveness and execution. Prepare strategic presentations and reports for senior leadership and the Board. General Manage multiple workstreams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation to align stakeholders around key priorities. Track the progress of strategic initiatives, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective actions. The Candidate Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex issues and develop actionable recommendations Excellent analytical and financial modelling abilities, including proficiency in Excel and data-driven decision-making Ability to synthesise insights from market research, competitive analysis, and internal data Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials for senior leadership and boards Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment across diverse teams Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment 4–7 years’ experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or a related field Proven track record of delivering strategic projects, ideally across both growth and corporate/business strategy areas Experience in energy, renewables, or adjacent sectors is advantageous but not essential Degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus Familiarity with financial analysis, business case development, and strategic planning processes Please feel free to reach out or submit your CV if this role is of interest.
