Group Strategist

Reporting of the Role

This reports to Group Strategy Director

Overview of job

As an expert communications planner, the core purpose of the Strategist is to educate and inspire our most important commercial partners on how to use Global's portfolio of market leading audio, digital and outdoor assets to best effect.

  • With a focus on a proactive, developmental approach to key clients, the Strategist will nurture strong, collaborative relationships with senior agency and client account leaders
  • Will demonstrate how Global brands and platforms can be used to most effectively to meet their business, marketing and media objectives.
  • The Strategist also supports the broader sales team by championing a culture of insight driven, client objective-led selling and will play a role in leading the response to larger strategic, all-media briefs.

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Established yourself as a valued member of the broader commercial team
  • Devised and delivered a host of compelling communication strategies to our most important commercial partners
  • Moved the dial on planning team engagement for national independent agencies

Responsibilities of the role

  • Planning Expertise: The ability to create inspirational, strategically relevant business cases for Global's brands and platforms
  • Media Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of all communication channels and how they work together
  • A "Full Service" Approach: The ability to interpret clients' broader communication requirements and create strategies in the space where media, content and technology meet
  • A Growth Mindset: A deep knowledge of media and marketing planning best practice that is balanced with an appetite to innovate and explore new ground when business relevant

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • A Collaborative Style: An open, solutions orientated working style comfortable working in virtual teams
  • Drive: The ability to create your own agenda and the confidence and communication skills to influence and challenge media plans at the highest levels
  • Excellent presentations skills: The ability to build and deliver compelling presentations
  • Curiosity: A broader passion for culture, brands and advertising
