Petroplan are currently working with a leading Operator searching for a Senior Facilities Engineer, working on a 4x4 Rotation in West Africa.


Description:

Job Purpose:

nTo provide support of existing operations and brownfield projects, the correct technical guidance, systems of work and controls that ensure the ongoing fitness for purpose of all facilities systems in accordance with good industry practice and in compliance with all legislative and/or regulatory requirements.nTo ensure appropriate specification, design, manufacture, installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of new or changed instrumentation, control and process safety systems and equipment.nTo act as a mentor figure (for technical excellence, development guidance and exemplary professional behaviours) to less-experienced national engineers.nTo provide technical support to incumbent lead during periods when Engineering Manager is on leave.


Responsibilities / Key Objectives:

nTechnical Expertise for the design, specification, manufacture, installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of new or modified mechanical / piping systems and equipment.nEnsures Performance Standards for Safety Critical Elements related to all facilities safety systems and equipment are adhered to.nParticipate in or lead internal technical audits, take part in incident investigations, pro-actively engages in survey, assessment, or analysis of any technical situation in the field.nProvides technical input on both contractor & consultant selection and manages specialist external consultant or contractor support where applicable.nParticipate in design reviews, HAZID and HAZOP studies, process facilities safety systems design and operation reviews.


nProvide input to operational requirements including:

Surveillance tools and health check requirements for facilities systems.nAdvises field operation and maintenance organizations on troubleshooting across the Business Unit's Operational facilities.nMentor less-experienced National engineers in all areas of technical excellence, engineering methods and business practices, developmental guidance and professional behaviours.


Education:
nDegree-qualified Engineer (chemical, mechanical or similar relevant engineering discipline), preferably chartered.

Skills:

n15 years broad experience in process / facilities engineering within a suitable arena, including significant oil & gas Production Operations experience, and some Project Execution.nSignificant experience on FPSOs and brownfield modifications.nMastery of the full range of process, utility and safety systems and facilities equipment typically found on FPSOs.nProficiency in systems troubleshooting and live equipment performance monitoring.nAbility to communicate clearly and persuasively / with authority on technical engineering matters.

Must have experience in communicating with senior management.nWorking knowledge of all relevant engineering document and drawing types, and 'engineering office' document control practices.nFamiliar with relevant local and international engineering codes, standards and practices.nExpert use of 'standard' office tools (word processors, spreadsheets, slide packs, time management etc) and good working knowledge of typical process engineering / surveillance software tools (HYSYS, Pipesim/Maximus, PI Vision).nMust have previous experience in overseas position within culturally diverse organization.

nAbility to travel to onshore and offshore sites as required
