Melody Lodge is an independent home that supports adults with learning disabilities, communication and emotional needs, we are looking for someone who has a passion and energy for cleaning and who wants to join a small but dedicated team as House Support.


Job Purpose


To assist staff in the day to day running of the Home and to maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and service towards those we support, relatives, visitors and other members of staff.


To deliver the managers' cleaning schedule for the home, ensuring that appropriate cleaning materials are used correctly and reporting changes or concerns to the senior member of staff.


Key Tasks

  • Report both verbally and in writing on the general condition and cleanliness of the building via specific forms
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for those we support and staff.
  • Assist other staff in maintaining standards on each shift.
  • Assist in the collection of soiled linen and continence products for disposal as "yellow bag" waste.
  • Assist those we support in maintaining their domestic hygiene in their own rooms.
  • Report accidents and incidents to the member of staff on duty.
  • Assist in the care of the building.
  • Promote independence and dignity of those we support
  • Assist in enabling those we support to live their chosen lifestyle.
  • Talk to and listen to those we support.
  • Report complaints directly to the staff in charge as soon as they are made.
  • Undertake QCF level 2, training in Care Certificate / Domestic duties / Hospitality if not already qualified, as may be appropriate.
  • Undertake such in house and external training which is appropriate to your role and has been identified through a training needs appraisal.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
  • Work within the policies, procedures and guidelines of the Homes' Quality Management System.
  • Any other such duties as may be required to ensure the safe and effective management of infections or other H&S related activity to ensure the continuity of support for those we support.

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 25 per week

Salary:
£10.90 per hour
