We are offering a fixed term Breast Clinic Nurse vacancy that would benefit anyone who is looking to develop their knowledge in Breast Care Nursing within our supported , well motivated and friendly unit.

This role is based in the One stop triple assessment clinic and associated Breast oncology clinics . You would be able to gain valuable experience and insight into a Breast Cancer patient pathway by working within an established diagnostic unit.

The Central Lancashire Breast Unit is a well established team of Surgeons, Oncologists, Radiologists, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals who provide care and support for Breast Cancer patients.

We are focused in developing both staff and the service.

You will have the opportunity to develop and learn new skills that can aid you to progress in your career pathway .

Main duties of the job

Join our dynamic team as you embark on a journey of patient care and support As a vital member, you'll be right beside our clinic sister, extending compassionate assistance to patients referred to our unit.

Your role will involve orchestrating patient investigations with finesse, ensuring smooth coordination during their time with us. Plus, you'll have the exciting opportunity to accompany esteemed clinicians, including surgeons, oncologists, and nurse consultants, acting as their trusted chaperone.

But that's not all You'll take charge of our wound clinics, showcasing your managerial prowess. And when it comes to patients and their families, you'll be the beacon of information and support during their investigations and diagnosis, offering comfort and guidance every step of the way.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To provide information and psychological support for all patients who attend the Breast Clinic who are suspected or diagnosed with breast disease.

To be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to ensure personalised health and well-being care needs of the patient are met, in line with the Trusts values and Nursing and Midwifery Framework.

To support the Breast Care Nursing Team in the delivery of excellent patient care and show compassion for patients, relatives and visitors who are cared for within the Breast Unit.

Contribute to the direction of the Breast Care Team, monitor and maintain standards of care and professional practice to ensure efficient running of the Breast care, oncology and wound clinics.

Engage in research and support opportunities for the service.

Act as a role model and provide development, clinical, education and advice for all disciplines of staff and students to support them in reaching their full potential.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive record keeping.

Liaise with members of the Multidisciplinary team and Allied Health Professionals

Complete referrals to other agencies / healthcare professionals.

To ensure the productive operation of the unit through the maintenance of a safe, clean and organised environment

To act in a manner at all times that upholds the Trusts values and Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework goals, working as part of a team to ensure that patients and relatives receive excellent care with compassion.

Qualifications & Education

Essential

oNMC registration oDiploma in Nursing oPost registration qualification in principles and practices of breast disease (ENB A11)
