Service Care Solutions are looking for a part-time Legal Administration Assistant to work within the Gloucestershire Police on a 3-month initial contract.

Waterwells Police HQ

Job roles/responsibilities:


The purpose of this role is to work within the Constabulary's Legal Services Department providing a range of administrative functions to the Legal Services team, across a broad variety of legal work.


  • Coordinate team schedules, meetings, and travel.
  • Welcome visitors and manage reception communication.
  • Attend meetings, track court dates, and take minutes.
  • Transcribe and proofread legal documents.
  • Monitor and relay court deadlines.
  • Organize, scan, copy, and file legal documents.
  • Maintain case system, filing, and library.
  • Manage Counsel communication and court prep.
  • Negotiate fees, handle finances.
  • Maintain supplies, ensure compliance.
  • Perform varied tasks to meet goals.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good presentation and the ability to be professional and courteous.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Being highly organised and efficient.
  • Significant competency using Internet and all Microsoft packages.
  • Good typing speed with a high rate of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong sense of discretion.
  • Proven administration experience, including the maintenance of filing systems, processing invoices, arranging meetings and travel.
  • Practical experience of advanced keyboard skills.
  • Desirable Knowledge of legal terminology, regulations, and court system.
  • Working knowledge of case management software systems.
  • Typing speed of 50 wpm with a high rate of accuracy.
