The post involves; being responsible for the opening and daily operation of Newport Roman Villa during the summer season.

This will involve:

  • Taking admissions and shop sales. monitoring the displays, ensuring the site is secure and safe for visitors, cleaning and maintaining the garden.
  • Use of computers is required to take credit card payments and the applicant should be enthusiastic and willing to learn more about the site.
  • Experience within a retail / tourism environment is required with the ability to meet and greet visitors.
The position will be for 5.5 hours per week during the open season (Wednesdays 10am - 3.30pm).

There will be the opportunity for additional hours in July and August when the Villa is open 6 days a week and possible additional hours across other Heritage Service sites.
