Pastoral Lead / Head of Year Position in Birmingham

Salary: £150 - £185

Hours: Full-time

Are you experienced in being a pastoral lead and enjoy positively impacting students' development and learning?

Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Pastoral Lead / Head of Year to join our secondary school team in Birmingham.

As a Pastoral Lead / Head of Year, your role involves providing support to students for their overall growth academically, socially, and emotionally, fostering a positive learning environment within the year group, promoting high self-expectations, and ensuring effective learning through managing behavior and attendance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in KS3 and KS4.
  • DBS certification or willingness to get one.
  • Experience working with students with challenging behavior.
  • Strong class control and behavior management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Degree preferred.
  • Previous pastoral role experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the school curriculum.
  • Monitor students' progress throughout the academic year.
  • Motivate and inspire student learning.
  • Understand students' emotional, social, and academic needs.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers on sensitive matters.
