Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK.Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija.To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking foraChief Engineer - Type Approvalin the Type Approval Department to join us in our manufacturing plantbased in Hethel.

Summary:

The ideal candidate will be required tolead the Type Approval of current and future Lotus Sports Car products.

What You'll Do:

  • Possess a good working knowledge of automotive legislative requirements, especially EU and USA legislation and reporting.
  • Ensure the on time delivery of market certification for products, as required by the business.
  • Ensure appropriate plans are maintained for legislative procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of tests.
  • Provide a lead role in the analysis of gathered data and conclusions.
  • Advise on the application of legislative test procedures, to suit the requirements of Lotus Products.
  • Liaise with global legislative authorities regarding technical and regulatory information related to vehicles and to be responsible for the appropriate distribution of such information.
  • Support project planning activities.
  • Assist with cost control and manpower allocations, as required within the TA group.
  • Lead and support product and engineering meetings and present relevant information.
  • Ensure project managers and engineers from other disciplines can provide delivery of a certified product.
  • Liaise and provide information to other Lotus businesses, such as Lotus China & Lotus USA.
  • Develop your ownskill set, with experience and by exposure, to external input (papers, reports, discussion with relevant legislative authorities and industry groups/peers, etc.)

What You'll Bring:

  • Automotive Engineering Degree.
  • Significant experience in the field of global Type Approval.
  • Management of complete technical activities / management of a Type Approval or legislation function.
  • Experience of Federal and China approval and reporting processes.
  • Willingness to guide others.

  • Ability to digest and recall relevant information from regulations.
  • Planning skills and coordination of project activities.
  • Outgoing/confident nature and ability to lead a team.
  • Should possess very high degree of self motivation.
  • Ability to represent the company and lobby regulation authorities would be advantageous.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Functional safety.
  • Knowledge of Cyber security and software updates.
  • Knowledge of ADAS and Autonomous Systems.
