Responsibilities:

Description of the Business Line or Department

  • Within Corporate & Investment Banking activities, Global Markets ("MARK") is a fully integrated multiasset class, multiproduct platform focusing on delivering high quality investment and risk management solutions to asset managers, pension funds, private banks, banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, family offices, sovereign funds and retail network distributors around the world.
  • Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Derivatives Corporate Sales for Western Europe ( "FIC/IFD/WEX") sits within MARK and covers the major European corporates for risk advisory using Foreign Exchange Cash and Derivatives, Structured and Hybrid Products, Interest Rate Derivatives, Emerging Local Markets and Liquidity Management. The Team focuses both on risk management understanding and advice for the corporate clients as well as execution of the transactions.
  • The UK desk covers clients based in the UK, as well as the European operations of certain MNCs.

Summary of the key purposes of the role
Assist the Interest Rate and FX Derivatives Sales teams:

  • in their sales efforts to UK corporate clients by helping to prepare market commentary, marketing materials and indicative pricing
- in liaising with other front office business partners including Relationship Managers, Debt Capital Market teams, Structuring, Research and Trading
- in liaising with critical support functions including Middle and Back Office, Onboarding, Compliance and Legal

Summary of responsibilities

  • Preparing market updates and proposals for clients
  • Compiling indicative pricing of derivative structures and solutions
  • Research on markets and clients
  • Preparing credit line requests
  • Maintaining business data statistics
  • Reporting client information, deals, business followups and updating SG databases
  • Assist sales with KYC/Account opening process
  • Assist sales with Payment/Confirmation issues
  • Maintaining and improving spreadsheets used by the desk
  • Establish strong working relationships with various business lines
  • Assist other London based Corporate Sales desks on an adhoc basis as required

Profile required:

Competencies

  • Excellent mathematical skills an ability to understand both complex mathematical concepts, but also perform mental arithmetic quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail an ability to work both quickly and accurately
  • Communication skills ability to interact effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Teamwork a strong collaborative approach
  • Selfmotivation an ability to take the initiative and act accordingly
  • Analytical skills able to assimilate significant quantities of information and use this data effectively
  • Flexibility able to adapt to different circumstances and tailor behaviour accordingly
  • Decisionmaking the ability to make complex decisions in short periods of time
  • Ability to work under pressure particularly when trading the ability to deal well with pressure
  • IT skills excellent Powerpoint, Excel, Word skills. Preference for coding, although not essential

WORK EXPERIENCE
No work experience is required for this role however any experience in financial services is useful

EDUCATION

  • Degree from a top tier university
  • Consistently excellent academic record
  • Strong quantitative background (Maths Alevel minimum preferred)

LANGUAGES
Native/Fluent English speaker
