Job Description:

We are looking for two Research Associates to join our expanding Subsurface Research team. Our dedicated Subsurface team is located around the world delivering research and consulting projects.

The role will be primarily focused on global, regional, and basin level exploration performance and prospective resource analysis in a transitioning industry.


As well as delivering world-class research, the role will allow you to develop deeper industry knowledge into prospective and discovered resources and collaborate with world-class industry experts.


Main Responsibilities

  • As part of a worldclass team of Subsurface analysts you will:
  • Closely monitor and analyse subsurface activity and utilise a wealth of upstream oil and gas data.
  • Use this information to produce highquality research in the form of data analytics and thoughtprovoking articles, presentations, and reports.
  • Develop a unique perspective and understanding of the oil and gas subsurface sector.
  • Assess both industry performance and outlook concerning exploration and appraisal and develop a thorough understanding of the petroleum provinces within your accountability.
  • Form opinions on prevailing business contexts, corporate strategies, exploration and appraisal, access, M&A, petroleum economics, government energy policy and regional geopolitics.
  • Through your research, and in responding to client queries, you will strengthen your network of contacts at key companies and industry bodies.
  • Contribute to our industryleading subsurface written reports, economic analysis and written content will be highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a geotechnical role in the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about upstream oil and gas and keen to develop an indepth understanding of the energy sector
  • You have a proven analytical mindset and an eye for detail
  • Comfortable collecting and interpreting data, and articulating your findings clearly and insightfully
  • A flair for writing and communication
  • An engaging nature, capable of connecting with coworkers, clients and industry
  • Strong communication skills. Comfortable interacting with clients and industry stakeholders
  • You can work independently and as part of a team, generating creative ideas

Expectations

  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment
  • While this is expected to be a fulltime role, parttime or flexible working arrangements will be considered.
