Overview:
Are you looking a role where you can utilise your communication skills and build relationships with a huge range of people?

We have a number of customer focused posts within the Scottish Government House Teams.

The teams are responsible for the efficient running of Front of House and are the first point of contact for visitors coming to meetings.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week on a shift pattern 5 days from 7 and may be asked to work at different sites.

A shift allowance of 12.5% is payable.

Posts are located in Scottish Government Edinburgh buildings (St. Andrew's House, Saughton House and Victoria Quay), but you may also be expected to work in other government buildings in Edinburgh such as National Registers of Scotland.

You will be required to work a shift pattern of Early (05:48-14:12) and Back (13:48-22:12) shifts. For working shifts you receive an additional allowance of 12.5%. You may be asked to fill in on overtime at weekends for which an allowance will be paid. You will also undertake training to be able to carry out distribution/mail management team duties when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Front of House services to include reception duties and ensuring the safety and security of Scottish Government staff, assets and materials. This will involve both internal and external patrolling of buildings.
  • The ability to work as part of team is key to this post. As a team player you must be willing to be flexible and adaptable. Understand and fulfil your own responsibilities and be aware of how your work affects other members of your team.
  • You will therefore be required to communicate with colleagues and customers at all grades on a daily basis. Know who your internal and external customers are and have a good understanding of their needs and expectations.
  • You will be required to deal simultaneously with a number of competing demands, organising and prioritising the workload ensuring that all services are delivered effectively and efficiently to customers
