Platform Lead

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our IT team as our
Platform Lead - Digital based at our Support Centre in Worksop weekly and working remotely.
Along with:
- Working with key senior business stakeholders, especially product owners, senior managers, and Heads of Department/ Function and product vendors to elicit functional and maintenance roadmaps for all retail products in the platform, sequencing in accordance with the overall business strategy.
- Accountability for the definition and ongoing management of the IT delivery plan for each retail product in the platform, translating the functional roadmap, maintenance imperatives, and business context into a concrete plan that describes a regular release cadence providing regular, incremental change.
- Acting as a highly visible and approachable point of engagement for senior business stakeholders seeking to achieve business outcomes, providing expert consultancy to support, shape and influence business demand into the most appropriate technology change. Working closely with Enterprise Architects and Head of Engineering and Architecture to determine when the enterprise architecture and/ or composition of the platform needs to be amended.
- Using excellent judgement to balance the pace and value of functional roadmap delivery against the competing benefits of aligning to enterprise architecture, minimising technical debt, and maximising quality and value through engineering best practice.
- Accountability for the processes and associated outputs (artefacts, documentation) of agile delivery of product increments, including release, increment, and sprint planning; business requirements and related analysis, solution architecture, quality assurance strategy, planning and execution; and all other relevant artefacts of the engineering process.
- Maintaining an endtoend model of costs for the platform, including forecast and actuals, at product and contract level. Actively managing the cost of the platform, seeking opportunities to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
- Responsibility for the management of key IT supplier relationships and contracts as pertain to the products in the platform.
For this role we need someone who is in a senior software engineering manager role or similar, with previous hands-on experience writing code, preferably with an e-commerce background.
You'll be comfortable managing a team of engineers as well as managing third party engineering relationships; and have experience of working in a fast paced and demanding agile model.
Your leadership style will be to coach, inspire and develop you team's skills; and when it comes to stakeholder management, you'll be comfortable being the at forefront of the conversation and be able to challenge and champion when needed.
