We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual, to take on an exciting opportunity in the role of Housing First Assistant Support Worker. The role of the Assistant Support Worker with The Salvation Army is critical to providing an enhanced level of service for vulnerable clients, promoting client choice and control, ensuring clients develop new skills, make positive life choices and achieve the best possible outcomes.

About the service:

Glasgow Housing First's aim is to support people to move into their own permanent tenancy and provide ongoing support with tenancy sustainment, preventing the risk of repeat homelessness. We aim to support and guide each client to enable them to become independent, through partnership working. This will be achieved at everyone's own level and pace and will be line with the Housing First Principles of:

People have a right to a home Flexible support is provided for as long as a person needs it Housing and support are separate Individuals have choice and control An active engagement approach is used The service is based on people's strengths, goals and aspirations A Harm Reduction approach is adopted

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

Compassion, empathy and kindness Relevant qualification e.g. SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards this Experience of working with vulnerable clients Good computer skills and an ability to input data and maintain a database Fully competent in using Microsoft Office software, social media platforms, etc
