Summary of Role:


Reporting to the Value Stream Leader, and working in a team, a laminator is responsible for constructing complex composite parts which are used in medical imaging machines, such as those used in mammography or chest x-rays.

Full training will be provided.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Layering precut, prepreg sheets of material onto an aluminium tool to create a specific component for a customer (referred to as "Laminating")
  • Following specific work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (with full training provided by an experienced Laminator)
  • Preparing laminated components for the autoclave; this involves wrapping the component in protective material and positioning in a vacuum bag.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading Autoclave as and when required
  • Inspecting completed components to ensure they meet the required standard before they leave the department
  • Ensuring that the components are properly protected for transportation to the next department
  • Responsible for maintaining all tools to a satisfactory condition and always ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
