About the role:

I am seeking a vintage and fit obsessed creative Head of Design to oversee our design team.

Working with the vision set out by myself (Orlagh, Design Director & Co-Founder), you will be one of the key people to help and deliver the creative and strategic direction of our Design team across all categories including accessories, knit, woven, denim & shoes.


You will manage the design process from initial concepts to fully realised collections that are both flattering and aspirational whilst also commercial.

You will also love working on one off pieces that arise outside of planned collections and enjoy a fast paced, inspiring, and agile way of working.

You are experienced in overseeing a Design team and can empower a team beneath them to inspire creativity, streamline processes, and create products that give our customers effortless confidence every time they wear a RIXO garment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Leadership: Using the creative vision of our Design Director, you will manage the design process from start to end. Making sure the collections are true to RIXO's DNA and unique style.
  • Design Development: Oversee the endtoend design process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring the timely delivery of highquality and commercially viable collections.
  • Range Building: You will use your strategic experience to manage range building, ensuring we are growing the right categories, SKU range and price points.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Helping them turn concepts into wearable and flattering designs.
  • Trend Forecasting: Stay abreast of new ideas, market developments, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions and maintain relevance in the industry.
  • Product Innovation: Drive innovation in garment construction, fabric selection, new category growth to become lifestyle brand.
  • Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with the print, merch, production, and garment tech teams to ensure seamless integration of design initiatives and alignment with strategic goals. Collaborating with the Print team to understand how colour will best fit within the collection.
  • Performance Analysis: You will use customer feedback and sales insights to help drive the creative process for new product design.

About you:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in fashion design, with a strong portfolio highlighting originality, creativity, and technical expertise
  • A creative "on brand" eye and understanding of RIXO
  • Inspired by working at RIXO
  • Previous leadership experience managing a design team within a contemporary womenswear brand
  • Indepth knowledge of garment construction, têxtiles, and manufacturing processes and obsessed with fit
  • Exceptional artistic ability with a keen eye for colour, patterns, and detail
  • Able to communicate effectively and inspire stakeholders at all levels in a professional and personable manner
  • Highly organised and solutions focused
  • Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Capable of presenting information clearly and concisely, both written and verbally
