Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the country, offering a range of both general and specialist hospital services.


We provide nationally commissioned services and expertise in support of Early Phase Clinical Trials, and we are part of a leading national network for the development of cancer drugs of the future (Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre).

1 To prepare documentation for batch medicinal products.

  • To prepare trays according to the worksheet filling in relevant manufacturer, batch number and expiry date.
  • To prepare, process and pack aseptically prepared medicinal products in accordance with approved worksheets and SOP's.
  • To process returned support medication on the JAC computer system.
  • To undertake transfer disinfection of materials into and within the aseptic unit and the isolators.
  • Visually inspect/volume accuracy check batches prepared in the aseptic unit to ensure they are free of particulate contamination and meet the required standards.
  • To maintain adequate stocks both of drugs and disposables for the aseptic dispensing unit, sometimes in emergency situations - ordering using the computer system, checking stock levels against computer levels, stock rotation, and removal of any expired stock.
Please also note this vacancy is a training post so all applicants will start at Band 2 and upon completion of necessary skills and/ or training will progress to Band 3
