Howden - Corporate & Commercial is currently seeking an Account Handler to assist their team in managing clients' insurance needs, handling general inquiries, renewals, mid-term adjustments, obtaining quotes, and invoicing premiums.

Working with our commercial clients, you should have a strong desire to deliver outstanding service.
This is a full-time permanent position based in our Lakeside office, with an expected onsite presence of 3 days per week on average.
You will also be required to visit our Maidstone office twice a month for team meetings.

About the Role:
- Help achieve client retention targets by delivering exceptional service.
- Collaborate with the Account Executive to devise a renewal strategy, attend client meetings when necessary, and address meeting action points.
- Conduct market analysis to secure the most competitive terms available.
- Obtain and present renewal terms to clients.
- Ensure timely collection of premiums in accordance with company procedures.
- Handle all client queries professionally and efficiently, both in writing and over the phone.
- Maintain accurate records on Acturis and utilize the diary system effectively.
- Generate precise and professional documentation using Howden templates.
- Process adjustments following procedures, including notifying insurers, issuing revised documentation, and collecting additional premiums.
- Actively promote products from other divisions.
- Collaborate with other branches and Group Resources as needed.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in all major classes of General Insurance and familiarity with the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience dealing with SME or commercial clients.

- Strong technical insurance skills, assessed through regular in-house testing.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong negotiation and brokering abilities.

- Capacity to gather and analyze client information.

Qualifications:
- GCSEs (grades A-C) in Maths & English.
- Cert CII (desirable).
- Acturis (desirable).
