An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide strong leadership to a dynamic and friendly Older Adult CMHT based in the Older Adult's Service at the Etherow Unit, Tameside Hospital.


We are looking for a motivated individual who has the ability to lead the day to day operation of the OA CMHT, providing management and supervision to the integrated health and social care team.

If you are passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of Older Adults by providing a comprehensive and specialist mental health service to people with both functional and organic illnesses within a community setting and have a focus on providing safe, effective high quality care then we would be delighted to receive your application.


Applicants should be a Registered Mental Health Practitioner (RMN , Social Worker, OT) with current registration or other professional registered qualification in a health or social care field with substantial experience as a senior mental health practitioner at Band 6 or equivalent level in a CMHT or similar service with clients with functional and/or organic illness.

The post holder will have responsibility for the management and supervision of the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team based in Tameside


This is an integrated health and social care team and the manager will line manage and supervise both health and social care staff and be accountable for the standard of practice which must be delivered according to the Policies and Procedures of both Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and Tameside Borough Council.


You will provide strong leadership to the team to ensure it performs in the most efficient and effective way ensuring all key performance indicators are met whilst providing a safe and high quality service.

To oversee the management of the Older Adults CMHT caseload, leading the nursing team and co-ordinating the clinical and therapeutic care withincommunity, on a day to day basis: To take full responsibility for managing the quality of care provided to clients in the community and to ensure that appropriate supervised care is provided at all times.

To support colleagues with complex clients management and joint work where required.

To provide management and supervision of specialist practitioners andpractitioners.

To lead the development of service standards and clinical audit To lead the development and implementation of new initiatives, incorporating researched based practices / evidence based practice.

Experience of working with Older Adults in Health/ Social care setting
Post registered or post graduate relevant study / equivalent mental health community practitioner experience
Willingness to undertake further training relevant to the specialist practitioner role resulting from legislative or service changes, as appropriate
People management experience
Ability to provide appropriate education and training to mental health practitioners as appropriate
Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined selforganisation
Ability to value diversity and respond constructively to discriminatory behaviour
Computer literacy

Ability to travel within the requirements of the post
Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
