Business Support Officer

  • Business Support Officer (Urgent Care)


Working across the Integrated Care offices, the Urgent Care Team provides administrative and secretarial support for colleagues across the ICB, as well as supporting a number of corporate functions.

The Business Support Assistant (Urgent Care) will be a member of this central team, but work with a main focus on supporting a number of internal Urgent Care functions and activities.


The postholder should be able to work on their own initiative, with limited supervision on a day to day basis, and have a flexible approach to their work in order to deal with conflicting demands and tight deadlines.

Good interpersonal skills are important for dealing with colleagues and external visitors, as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Urgent Care

  • To organise workforce oversight meetings, including coordinate agendas, take accurate notes at these meetings, prepare and monitor identified actions.
  • Work with the PMO Manager Urgent Care to coordinate recruitment activities within the ICB to ensure the recruitment approval process is efficient and timely.
  • Support the PMO Manager with the arrangements for new starters, inhouse induction and allocation of IT accounts and equipment, and leavers, eg. exit questionnaires, return of equipment etc.
  • Work within strict deadlines to ensure all documentation is processed promptly and within set timescales, and ensure accurate record keeping in line with audit requirements.
  • To support the monitoring of workforce data, eg. fixed term contracts and secondments, and highlight any arrangements that are due to expire to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken.
  • Maintain up to date records in relation to the ICB workforce, including staff personal files on Sharepoint, structure charts and appraisal documentation; ensure filing takes place regularly and in a timely and accurate manner, always maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
