Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom South Cambridgeshire District Council Full time

Surveyor:

Job description

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Housing Service based within the Property Services Team.
  • We are passionate about giving our residents the best possible homes and our team the best and most flexible careers. Our culture of hybrid working means that our staff enjoy an exceptional worklife balance, which can be demonstrated through the council being the first local authority to trial a 4day week.
  • We are seeking to recruit a Surveyor as part of the Operations team to support the Senior Surveyor and Operations Manager. To monitor and manage responsive repairs, voids, planned maintenance contracts.
  • An ability to communicate clearly, work in a team but take responsibility for prioritising your own workload is essential. As well as possessing technical knowledge and experience of contract management you will need to be peoplecentred, a team player, wellorganised and share our commitment to providing excellent services for our range of customers.
  • From January 2023 until March 2024 the Council will be taking part in a fourday working week trial. A fourday week is when fulltime staff work one less day per week (four days instead of five), but still get paid the same salary. It is not the same as compressed hours, which is working the traditional 37hour week over four long days. A fourday week for a fulltime employee at the Council will consist of 30 hours. For part time staff, the amount of hours reduced would be calculated via a prorata reduction. A helpful way of explaining this arrangement is that staff will need to get 100% of their work done, in 80% of the time, for 100% of their salary. The purpose of this trial is to better support the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, while still delivering an excellent service to our residents. For more information please visit our website.
Closing Date: 9am 8 February 202- Interview Date: To be confirmed
