Job Advertisement: Deputy Head of Pension Operations at Benchmark Capital

Benchmark Capital, an award-winning firm providing regulatory, platform, and investment services, is seeking a talented individual to join our team as Deputy Head of Pension Operations. This role involves working closely with the Head of Pension Operations and supporting the daily operations of the pension operations teams.

The Role

You will play a crucial part in resolving escalations and complex technical matters, initiating process improvements, and ensuring our financial advisors and clients receive top-tier service. As the Deputy Head of Pension Operations, you will:

  • Deputise for the Head of Pension Operations as needed
  • Guide the Pension Operations teams in the absence of the Head of Pension Operations
  • Work closely with the Operations Senior Management team, Technical Managers, and both the Pension and Platform Operations Team Managers
  • Handle operational and regulatory projects from requirement gathering to completion
  • Collaborate with teams across the wider Operations and Benchmark teams
  • Drive operational process and system improvements

Location

The role is based at our Schroders Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. Our campus offers a great working environment with an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, and gym. We also provide a regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham's main line train station for commuters.

Required Skills and Experience

  • CISI Investment Operations Certification or equivalent
  • Significant operational and/or technical management experience at a UK pension provider
  • Strong people management and relationship management skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Extensive Financial Services industry experience
  • Sound understanding of the Financial Conduct Authority and regulation relating to platform services
  • Ability to communicate with, engage and influence senior colleagues (up to Board level)
  • Demonstrable experience of leading on and implementing operational process improvements
  • Operational knowledge of continuous improvement tools and experience of managing large high-profile accounts
  • Thorough understanding of the mechanics behind a Pension offering and the regulatory nature of the product
  • Accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and alone
  • Outstanding numeracy and literacy skills
