Job Summary:

We're on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Cloud SRE Engineer to be part of our team. This is a fantastic chance for someone who's all about cloud technology, DevOps, and SRE, and who's keen on shaping the Arm eco-system's future by supporting our global engineering groups. We operate across various engineering teams to help with high-performance computing simulations and verification tasks on the cloud. As a team with a cloud focus, we play a key role in aiding different engineering users and customers in their transition to the cloud and ensuring efficient and cost-effective workload operations.

This position is located at our Cambridge head office in the UK, where a variety of teams from Arm work together, including Cloud collaborations with major CSPs, development tools, compilers, debuggers, technical communications, and open-source software development.

Key Responsibilities:

As a proficient Cloud SRE Engineer, you'll lead the way in integrating cloud technologies and tools into our systems. Your role will involve migrating current products and solutions to the cloud, staying updated on emerging trends and technologies. You'll closely collaborate with stakeholders, domain experts, and service operations teams to offer implementation, infrastructure, and operational support.

Being part of a collaborative team, you will build, assess, and manage the software stack to ensure our solutions meet the diverse needs of Arm's global engineering team effectively.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing and delivering robust, scalable solutions on the Cloud
  • Proficiency in software build, test, and deployment pipelines using DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code
  • Working knowledge of Cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration, and cloud-native solutions
  • Extensive familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, shell scripts, and open source software
  • Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages for REST APIs, with solid problem-solving abilities
  • Supporting engineers in running workloads efficiently on the cloud
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Transitioning workflows from on-premise to cloud services
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization systems like Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Knowledge of high throughput cloud computing systems and cluster management solutions
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as VPCs, Security Groups
  • Programming experience in Golang
  • Use of Python Django framework
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB
  • Working in an SRE model
