Job Summary

An exceptional opportunity has come up to take on the leadership of a well-established and highly regarded systemic family psychotherapy and family intervention service, deeply rooted in adult community mental health services. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with the expertise to steer the continuous growth and enhancement of family work in mental health services, while also playing a role in broader division and trust initiatives. Collaborate with other Family Therapists to foster a family-inclusive environment, which includes contributing to the advancement and delivery of the Trust's AFT accredited systemic family therapy training.

Main Duties of the Job

You will lead the provision of Family Therapy for clients and families facing various severe and complex psychological issues, within a multidisciplinary approach. Offer professional guidance to other clinicians delivering Family Therapy and Family Interventions, along with overseeing the daily management of a Band 7 Family Therapist. The role involves providing supervision, consultation, and training to clinicians from diverse disciplines, teams, and professional networks to enhance their effectiveness in working with clients and their families. Additionally, bring specialized knowledge and skills to assessment, care planning, treatment, and review processes within the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Essential

Masters Degree in Systemic Family Psychotherapy.Live Registration with UKCP.A recognized professional qualification in a relevant core discipline (e.g., Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Psychology).A high level of specialist knowledge in the theory and practice of Systemic Psychotherapy with adults facing a range of complex mental health needs.

Desirable

Knowledge and skills in systemic organizational consultation and development.

Experience

Essential

Leadership experience in both clinical practice and change/project management.Specialist experience in systemic supervision and consultation for other Systemic Family Psychotherapists and professionals from various disciplines and client groups.Planning and delivering training in Systemic Family Psychotherapy and other facets of working with families and carers, guided by professional standards and competency benchmarks.

Desirable

Experience with diverse client groups.Work experience in different mental health environments, including inpatient and community settings.

Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with individuals at all levels.Belief in the potential for personal growth and learning in individuals with mental health issues, emphasizing their involvement in all aspects of care alongside their families and carers.
