Head of Buying - Ladies & Menswear

This role is based in Netherlands but I wanted to reach UK Senior Buyers who would be interested in looking at roles internationally

I am currently recruiting for a Head of Buying to join a well-known international retailer to head up their Ladies & Menswear teams.


You will be responsible for driving the Buying strategy to ensure the growth in both sales & profitability while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued development in the buying department.

As the Head of Buying some of your duties willinclude;

  • Building & maintaining strong relationships with Ladies & Menswear suppliers
  • Analysing Sales data
  • Working collaboratively with the other internal buying teams
  • Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes
  • Maintaining best cost prices across the department
  • Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines with the buying team
  • Attending trade fairs / shows including international
  • Working closely with the product teams to maintain quality levels within products
  • Develop the Ladies & Menswear Buying team to ensure individuals fulfil their individual career potential
  • Presenting reports, figures and trend information to the Senior Management team
Key requirements for the role;

  • Proven previous experience as Buying Manager / Head of Buying within a fastmoving Fashion / clothing retailer
  • Educated to degree level essential
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing retail market.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
  • Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
