PLEASE REFER TO ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DUTIES OF THE ROLE. To provide specialist dietetic assessment, management and treatment of patients requiring nutritional support in care homes.

To work with the medicines optimisation team to ensure the appropriate use of oral nutrition supplements promoting a food first approach.

To manage a caseload of patients including management of enteral feeding patients and oral nutrition support patients.

These patients will include those with dementia, Huntingtons disease, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. To complete outpatient clinics once per week. These will contain a mix of nutrition support, Type 2 Diabetes, IBS etc.

To partake in audits and service improvement projects which you will be encouraged to showcase To provide clinical supervision to support staff To facilitate training in care homes which will also involve developing and evaluating the training programme.

The department takes A, B and C students. The post holder will be encouraged to take an active role in student training once established in their role.

To help to provide cover for colleagues and undertake duties appropriate to the band as requested by the Head of Dietetics.

To work as an autonomous practitioner within appropriate clinical and professional guidelines and as part of a team To ensure that you continuously look for ways to improve the quality of the service or care you provide to patients or other services/departments, where appropriate.
