London, Greater London, United Kingdom Sedex Full time

About Sedex

More than 85,000 businesses across the world have made Sedex their trusted partner in creating a more socially and environmentally sustainable supply chain.

From our platform's unrivalled data insights to our team's expert guidance, Sedex makes it easy for companies to manage, assess and report on sustainability performance.

Our Vision is to be a leader in making global supply chains more socially and environmentally sustainable.

Our Mission is to supply data-driven insight through the most accessible tools and services. We engage with companies and our community to continuously improve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes.

The role

You will be part of team of agile delivery managers, playing a key role in ensuring that Sedex in-house digital products are brought to market on time, on budget and with high quality, and do what our customers need them to do. The agile delivery manager works closely with product, design, engineering and business, ensuring that key initiatives are driven efficiently from inception all the way through to market, while making sure that lean, agile practices are followed.

The delivery manager role at Sedex is well established, and respected – you will manage the delivery of strategic development across 2-3 teams, while at the same time collaborating at the programme level to ensure that we deliver across the whole portfolio on the strategic roadmap, taking care of dependencies across all teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the E2E product delivery plan for your teams, driving initiatives forwards, making sure discovery kicks off on time, value hypotheses are tested, and the solutions is designed and developed as planned
  • Be hands-on and prepared to roll up your sleeves and act like a project manager, if and when needed
  • Provide continuous, reliable status reporting of initiative development, including forecast cost/time, actual cost/time and work-remaining estimate
  • Quickly identify and remove impediments of any type anywhere in your teams' delivery pipelines
  • Participate in road-mapping and team capacity-planning, performing a key role in ensuring that the product roadmap is feasible and predictable, cross-team dependency is managed, and development items are prioritised, chunked and sequenced in the right way
  • Ensuring that Jira projects are maintained by teams such that delivery reporting processes operate correctly and work is transparent
  • Work closely with product, design and engineering to ensure that work is iterative, prioritised, chunked and has clearly defined goals and value propositions
  • Coaching teams to be autonomous and to continuously improve their agile ways of working
  • Guide less mature teams in working agile – for example, helping them to run agile ceremonies, like retros, dailies, sprint planning – with a view to enabling them to become fully autonomous
  • Help teams to be more product-orientated and ensure that there is good communication and collaboration across all roles and team members – for example, between product and engineering
  • Work cross functionally with product management and the wider business to ensure GTM plans are in place and executed, and new product releases "land" successfully – work with product to ensure KPIs are tracked beyond launch to demonstrate the ROI of the products that have been delivered
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery and product development processes together with product and engineering

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • At least 3 years' experience working in a product and technology delivery role of some sort
  • Always business and product focused, but understanding the need for balancing constraints and needs of technology
  • Solid grasp of lean, agile development methods and best practices – e.g. SCRUM – as well as a keen understanding how agile principles can be used to speed up delivery, ensure delivery of business value and customer need, improve quality and reduce risk
  • Strong communication skills and ability to act as a bridge between engineering and product – at home interfacing with stakeholders of all types
  • Naturally methodical and organised, with an eye for detail and ability to plan complex initiatives
  • Good written and spoken English
  • High-level working knowledge of software development and technologies - e.g. cloud deployment, micro-services architecture – is an advantage

Our culture

At Sedex, we are passionate about helping businesses become truly sustainable and ethical across their operations and supply chains. We believe that all people have the right to a safe workplace, where they are treated with respect and paid fair wages, free of harassment and discrimination.
