Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and outstanding staff nurses to join the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit (Ambulatory Care) at Friarage Hospital. Our excellent team provide clinical assessment and treatment for those patients who would ordinarily have been admitted overnight to hospital as an emergency.

You will ideally have varied post-registration experience and be willing to develop your skills to support with the advances of the service.

The Friarage Hospital is within easy reach of Teesside from the North via the A19 or York is 50 minutes south. Theres also great train links to Northallerton center which is a lovely traditional market town. Car Parking facilities at the Friarage are also very good.

Main duties of the job

The staff nurse within SDEC/ Ambulatory Care will continuously evaluate their role, whilst supporting patients with complex and urgent care needs. They will work with the nurse practitioners and in partnership with local consultants, GP practices and the local PCNs to further develop services which are of value to the commissioners and meet the local needs of the population.

The post holder will work as part of the SDEC/ Ambulatory Care Unit to provide support to the Nurse Practitioners in the management and care for patients.

We have a strengthened leadership team at the Friarage with an operational service manager and a clinical matron on site.
