Main duties and responsibilities
We are seeking an applicant who will teach on our new LLM (Solicitors' Practice) programme with responsibility for Wills Trusts and Administration of Estates, Criminal Law and Practice, and Solicitors Accounts modules. You will assist other Module Leaders on the LLB Programme, and lead a module yourself.
You will work co-operatively as part of the School's teaching team, including off-campus student outreach and other recruitment activities such as open days where required. You will work closely with the Associate Deans, Head of Department, and Programme Leaders to continue the development of the School's teaching and learning initiatives and ensure the innovative nature of the curriculum.
Skills and experience required
You will have teaching experience and subject expertise at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level in Wills Trusts and Administration of Estates, Criminal Law and Practice, and Solicitors Accounts. You will have experience of designing or contributing to the design of engaging and intellectually stimulating modules which have professional or industry relevance.
You will possess the ability to use technology to enhance the quality and flexibility of delivery to students, and to promote the activities of the School's students. Proficiency in English Language is critical, with good self and time management skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
A motivated approach towards work and the work of the School within a business-facing University, and a commitment to the ongoing development of teaching and learning skills (in particular the growing use of technology in relation to blended learning activities) will be evident from your application.
Qualifications required
A minimum of a Bachelors and Masters degree in Law or equivalent level qualification. Completed a PhD, (or close to completion, no more than 3 months prior to viva), or research or professional experience, a teaching qualification and/or Fellowship of Advance HE would be highly advantageous.
