Being an Activities Co-Ordinator, you will:

  • Adapting to meet the individual needs of clients.
  • Delivering a programmed schedule of activities with individuals and groups.
  • Encouraging and supporting clients to reach and maintain their optimal level of independence.
  • Encouraging selfawareness, exploration and reflection on feelings and relationships.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effects of the service being provided in order to facilitate client progress.
  • Liaising with the senior staff team on all aspects of the service being provided.
  • Making best use of effective skills in the use of ICT.
  • Making best use of effective written and oral communication skills.

About the service:

St. Raphaels Home offers accommodation, support and care to 21 people with learning disabilities. The accommodation is provided between two buildings located adjacent to each other. The original St.

Raphaels building comprises eight en-suite bedrooms, with staff support for personal care throughout the day, and a member of staff sleeping-in at night.

It is fitted with a lift so the rooms are accessible to all.

About you:

Previous experience in a similar environment is essential, good administrative and organisational skills are required. We require you to be passionate about supporting others.

We'll provide you all the outstanding training and tools that you need; all we ask is a willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm to encourage others to live their lives to the full.

The post holders will be involved in leisure and recreational activities, assisting people to eat and drink and supporting people with their personal care.
