We have a great opportunity at HMP Haverigg to join the education team as our Student Support Worker on a Fixed-term (12 Month Maternity Cover), full-time, working 37 hours a week.

For more than two decades, Novus has been delivering education, training and employment opportunities to adults and young people in UK prisons.

The vision for the Education, Skills and Work provision is to ensure that learners in our care realize their full potential through Education, Skills and Work.

As the Student Support Worker, you will be responsible for liaising with learners on a day-to-day basis promoting the education provision on offer and carrying out initial assessments in English, Maths and learning difficulties/disabilities to ensure the learner has the information to plan their learner journey.

In addition, ensuring that prospective and existing learners receive relevant and easily understood information regarding learning and skills provision and continuing support.

To contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach that seeks to facilitate a smooth transition to the resettlement of the learner into the community.

In order to be successful in the role of Student Support Worker, you will need:
Relevant experience of conducting initial assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups.

To hold or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within an agreed timescale.

Admininstration & Computer skills required.
