We operate globally, employ over 2,500 employees, and represent a $1.2BN (and growing) business. Job Purpose Join the QA team at the Ashby site in this nearly created role of QA Chemist. You will carry out a range of laboratory-based projects to troubleshoot issues with production batches and continuously improve performance, ensuring repeatability, product quality and improved production efficiency, all driven from within the QA team. Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the QA team in the day-to-day running of the laboratory and offer cover in the absence of the QA Technicians.
  • Investigate failed batches through diligent laboratory work and working with related stakeholders.
  • Monitor current and historical batch production and raw material QA results to be aware, investigate and take appropriate action to improve trends.
  • Continually maintain and champion good housekeeping standards, including waste disposal.
  • Conduct routine testing of balances, scales and ovens and update relevant quality databases, helping to support the internal calibration and MSA programs, where appropriate.
  • Proactively analyse raw materials approaching the end of their shelf life, to either revalidate or advise procurement.
  • Work in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety policy and complete training when required.
  • Work in accordance with the Company's quality system and update computer data as applicable.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • A Level minimum in Chemistry is desirable. However, laboratory based experience is more important and a practical science-based background.
The role involves manual handling, and working in a laboratory environment and the wearing of PPE. Skills
  • IT literate and competent with Microsoft office or similar programs.
  • Practical approach to work with the ability to set priorities and solve problems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
