Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, flexible, and conscientious individual to join our small team of Domestic Assistants at Blyth Community Hospital. This position offers a permanent contract for 16 hours per week, based in the outpatients department. The working hours are currently Monday to Friday, primarily in the evenings, with some flexibility required. Additional hours may also be available.

Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities
  • Cleaning floor areas through vacuuming, mopping, buffing, and spray cleaning as per schedule.
  • Conducting deep cleans in areas with infection presence.
  • Disposal of various types of waste from designated areas to disposal points.
  • Damp dusting of surfaces, ledges, shelves, and curtain rails.
  • Cleaning internal glass and external hand washing facilities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards in all work areas.
  • Performing spot cleaning and spillage cleanup promptly when needed.
  • Completing other assigned tasks as necessary.
Person SpecificationQualifications

Essential

  • Basic Food Hygiene and/or Level 1 Food Safety Certificate (to be obtained within 6 months of start date)
  • Basic Numerate & Literate Skills

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent qualification
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in cleaningExperience and Knowledge
