Job Description - To be the responsible person for passengers who may have learning disabilities, other cognitive impairments, and physical and sensory impairments on their way to and from school or college, day centres or other venues.

To communicate effectively with people who have complex physical and mental disabilities, who may be agitated at times.

To work in accordance with our safeguarding policy.

To work as part of a team in order to deliver an outstanding service to our communities.


This is an active role that requires physical effort and dexterity, and there will be some requirements for moving and handling and supporting children or adults e.g.

assisting people to walk, pushing a wheelchair and securing harnesses / child safety seats.

Be a positive role model in your interactions with children and adults using the service.

Be familiar with, and adhere to, the values of WSCC and be compliant with key regulations i.e. Health and Safety / Safeguarding, standards and procedures.

Be physically able to undertake all the required caring aspects of the role.


Be able to work as part of a committed and dynamic team to achieve the shared goal of delivering consistent and outstanding service.
