We have a new opportunity available for a Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to join our busy UKAS Accredited Pathology Lab.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as a supervisor providing day to day support to junior members of the team.

As a Senior MLA, you will assist in technical and clerical duties within the specimen reception and laboratory areas.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • To provide day to day supervision of all Pathology MLA staff.
  • Provide multidisciplinary support to the BMS staff in the delivery of a Pathology service that is efficient and fit for purpose
  • Utilise manual and IT systems to ensure recording of specimens received and their analyses
  • Clean and maintain equipment to standard laboratory procedures (SOPs) keeping appropriate records
  • Support the laboratory accreditation to ISO15189 standards as required
  • Going forward, be confident in the setting up of new IT systems including electronic order comms

Person Specification:

  • Have experience in a related healthcare field or laboratory
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Basic IT skills
