WHAT TO EXPECT

You will work with our Climatic Test Engineers through their work in delivering Environmental tests supporting product development engineer.

As a Senior Technician, you will need to be aware of the facility's capabilities and how to prepare vehicles for test and support the engineer in delivering the operation effectively. You will be responsible to stand in for the Test Engineer when not available to maintain the operations of the facilities with support from the wider team if necessary. You will assist with the general maintenance and upgrades to facilities and use all opportunities to further your knowledge of facility operation and test techniques.

Your knowledge of Climatic Simulation in a wind tunnel or static environments will be continually developed in conjunction with the rest of the team, ultimately improving test quality and flexibility of the team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Lead the preparation of the test property and de-prep test vehicles, in conjunction and support of the facility Test Engineer.
● Supporting the test Engineer operating water ingress test facility and assisting with wade test, car wash, jet wash, and monsoon testing of the full vehicle or system. Up to and including standing in for test engineers when they are not available.
● Assisting in the troubleshooting of instrumentation and rigs
● Able to acquire necessary data and have base understanding of data integrity checks.
● As part of a local team demonstrate ownership of test facility to which you are aligned – cleanliness, start-up, shutdown, preventative maintenance, vehicle setup, logging utilisation, setting up and de-prep, conduct testing safely and without error
● Work in all ways to ensure safe operation and complying with H&S and quality guidelines and best practices.
● Be prepared to operate on a double day shift or day shift pattern dependant on the facility you are aligned to.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED


• Qualified to a minimum of Level 3, NVQ, C&G, Craftsman or IMI.

• A practical hands-on approach of vehicle preparation and installation.

• A drive to improve test sample changeover times increasing the effective usage of the test facilities.

• An appreciation of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and aerodynamics, most importantly a willingness to learn new skills, we are looking for people that want to develop their career.

• Background understanding of instrumentation, calibration requirements
