We are seeking a Specialty Doctor in Sexual Health to join Spectrum Community Health CIC in Wigan and Leigh, the sessions available are flexible and negotiable, split across clinical sessions, clinical administration, and CPD.


We have an innovative approach to clinical provision with a strong digital strategy which contributes to the flexibility of patient care, but also work/life balance.

You will be part of a wider sexual health team within Spectrum, which includes peer engagement from our Specialty Doctors in Barnsley and Wakefield.

The post holder will provide an outpatient model of sexual health care, including contraception as well as STI management.

The post holder will work within the medical team and contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality clinical environment and provide medical input into service delivery, supporting medical, nursing and administrative colleagues.

This post is primarily based at our central Wigan Clinic, currently located in Leigh due to refitting of new premises in Wigan).

The Wigan service will have a brand new purpose built clinical site in 2023, as Wigan Town Centre undergoes some significant regeneration.

The new service will remain in the very centre of town with good links to bus and train stations, which are only minutes' walk away from the service.

There will continue to be a secondary level 2 provision to the population of Leigh.


In addition to the new service estate, the service provision is looking for someone to lead innovation and system change, both internally and across the borough to the wider health provider network.

Commissioners are keen to see transformational change in relation to sexual health provision and this post is a key stakeholder in that innovative change agenda.
