Estimator (passive fire)

Job Title: Estimator - Passive Fire Protection

Department: Commercial/Estimating

Reports To: Commercial Manager

Job Summary:

The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of labor, materials, and equipment for passive fire protection projects. They will collaborate closely with the sales, project management, and operations teams to ensure competitive and profitable bid proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret project specifications, drawings, and technical documents for detailed cost estimates.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive quotes and comprehensive project coverage.
• Maintain the tender tracker ensuring timely bid submissions.
• Work with the Account Manager to manage opportunities and assist in setting client expectations.
• Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Participate in sales meetings to review sales pipeline and ongoing projects.
• Provide sales team support in client meetings and negotiations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and fire protection solutions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an estimator in the passive fire protection industry or related field.
• Strong understanding of fire protection systems and materials.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimation software.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

Office-based role with occasional site visits. Working hours Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
