Ranger - Alresford

Summary

We've got an exciting opportunity for a Ranger to join our team at Hinton Ampner.

As a Ranger, you'll be a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you'll play a crucial role in keeping the nation's beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people.

You should be willing to work some weekends particularly in support of our tree planting programme.

For an informal conversation, please contact our Area Ranger, Paul Collins on

Interviews will be held on the 26th of June at Hinton Ampner.

What it's like to work here

Our Ranger team at Hinton Ampner are expanding for climate and nature, to welcome people to be more involved in our work. You'll report to our Area Ranger with a trees, woodland and operational site management focus. You'll complete a Ranger team of four at Hinton Ampner focussed on the delivery of our Reimagining project. With our Ranger colleagues in North East Hampshire, we form a countryside department helping to look after heathland, wetland, woodland and grassland across several sites in the area.

What you'll be doing

You'll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, buildings and machinery. You'll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area as much as you do. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you'll take the time to talk to them and answer their questions.

With a schedule of practical tasks, alongside maintenance and administration you'll be confident working to your own initiatives and within a team, leading and mentoring volunteers who'll help deliver your objectives to ensure our habitats and visitor routes are of the highest standards. You'll also have a big involvement in our tree planting ambitions.

You'll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the Trust and telling people about the work you and the team are doing.

Please read the role profile and project information attached to this advert alongside our additional role.
