HGV Mechanic at D Cain & Son Ltd

We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our team at the Wigan Depot. If you are a skilled individual with a passion for inspecting, repairing, and preparing trucks and trailers for MOT, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

At D Cain & Son Ltd, we take pride in our long-standing reputation and family-run business values. As a part of our team, you will work alongside experienced HGV drivers, slingers, and office staff in a supportive environment.

Role Overview:

  • Inspect, repair, and MOT prep our fleet of Scania, Volvo, and Daf trucks
  • Work on a variety of trailers including Flat Draw Bar Trailers and Flat Bed Arctic Trailers
  • Utilize diagnostic machines like Jaltest and Texa
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team in our 3Bay workshop

Skills and Experience Required:

  • UK Driver's License (Preferably Class 1 HGV)
  • Level 3 Qualified or Equivalent in HGV Mechanics
  • Prior experience in Inspection, Repair, MOT Prep, and Maintenance
  • Familiarity with Diagnostic Machines (Jaltest or Texa)

Overtime Rates:

Starting hourly rate of £16 with opportunities for increased pay on Saturdays. If you are a motivated HGV Mechanic with a can-do attitude, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. No agencies, please.
